Darby Pappas spent a decade in marketing before she found the work that actually moved the needle: brand strategy.

She started her marketing career in 2013 at MMI Agency, part of Crispin Porter Bogusky, one of the most respected creative agencies in the world. She was building websites and crafting brand stories before digital strategy was a department most companies had. That early edge stuck.

Over the next decade she moved through agency roles and in-house teams, leading strategy and creative for brands across industries. But it was the brand positioning work that kept pulling her back. The question she couldn't stop asking: why do some brands stand out in a crowded space while others disappear into it?
